The FGM shells are assumed to rest on elastic foundation and subjected to mechanical and damping loads. Numerical results for dynamic response of the FGM shells are obtained by Runge–Kutta method. The results show the influences of geometrical parameters, the material properties, imperfections, the elastic foundations, eccentrically stiffeners and mechanical loads on the nonlinear dynamic response and nonlinear vibration of functionally graded double curved shallow shells. Material properties are graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of constituents. Classical thin shell theory in terms of the shell deflection and the stress function is used to determine the buckling loads and nonlinear response of the FGM annular spherical shells. Galerkin method is applied to obtain closed – form of load – deflection paths.
