The exchange information between the operator and the robot is classified into categories with specific features and requirements. Appropriate transport protocols are utilized for each set of data. The TCP is for the administrative data; the UDP is for the control signals and the RTP is for the vision data. Simulations and experiments show that this approach strengthens advantages of each transport protocol while maintains good performance of the system.Manh Duong Phungduongpm@vnu.edu.vnThuan Hoang TranThi Thanh Van Nguyenvanntt@vnu.edu.vnQuang Vinh Tranvinhtq@vnu.edu.vn2013-03-27T06:15:17Z2015-11-12T07:54:06Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/139This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1392013-03-27T06:15:17ZMulti-Sensor Perceptual System for Mobile Robot and Sensor Fusion-Based LocalizationThis paper presents an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) approach to localize a mobile robot with two quadrature encoders, a compass sensor, a laser range finder (LRF) and an omni-directional camera. The prediction step is performed by employing the kinematic model of the robot as well as estimating the input noise covariance matrix as being proportional to the wheel's angular speed. At the correction step, the measurements from all sensors including incremental pulses of the encoders, line segments of the LRF, robot orientation of the compass and deflection angular of the omni-directional camera are fused. Experiments in an indoor structured environment were implemented and the good localization results prove the effectiveness and applicability of the algorithm.Thuan Hoang TranManh Duong Phungduongpm@vnu.edu.vnThi Thanh Van Nguyenvanntt@vnu.edu.vnAnh Viet Dangvietda@vnu.edu.vnQuang Vinh Tranvinhtq@vnu.edu.vn2013-03-27T06:07:20Z2013-06-29T04:15:51Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/149This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1492013-03-27T06:07:20ZA Simplified Control for Robot ConvoyDuy-Hung Phamhungpd@vnu.edu.vnQuang-Vinh Tranvinhtq@vnu.edu.vnTrung-Dung Ngo2013-03-26T16:01:32Z2013-06-29T04:16:36Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/132This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1322013-03-26T16:01:32ZDesign and Implementation of Backtracking Wave-pipeline Switch to Support Guaranteed Throughput in Network-on-ChipPhi-Hung Phamhungpp@vnu.edu.vnJongsun ParkPhuong MauChulwoo Kim2013-01-25T07:28:22Z2013-06-29T04:22:23Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/124This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1242013-01-25T07:28:22ZDesign of a Dual-Band Omni-Directional Microstrip Antenna for Smart Mobile PhonesA dual-band omni-directional antenna for smart mobile phones, ordered by a manufacturer of mobile phones in Vietnam, has been designed and tested. To increase the performance of the fine time synchronization, we propose to use joint time synchronization and channel estimation based on the Maximum A Posteriori Probability criterion. Simulation results show that the probability of synchronization failure of the proposed synchronization algorithm is reduced as compared to existing methods.Cong Luong Nguyenluong.nguyen@univ-paris13.frAnissa MokraouiPierre DuhamelLinh Trung Nguyenlinhtrung@vnu.edu.vn2013-01-25T07:17:18Z2013-06-29T04:17:02Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/129This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1292013-01-25T07:17:18ZElectro-Optic Modulator Drift Compensation based on DSP SystemToan Thang PhamVan Yem VuGia-Duong Bachduongbg@vnu.edu.vnBernard Journet2013-01-23T08:41:50Z2013-06-29T04:13:09Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/127This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1272013-01-23T08:41:50ZStudy, Design, and Fabrication of Power Amplifier Module to be Used for Low-Attitude Radar System Operating at UHF Band (820MHz; 900MHz)In this paper, we introduces the configuration of a high-power solid- state transmitter to be used for modern radar system operating at UHF band (820Mhz; 900Mhz). Specially, the power amplifier module (150W output power) does play a critically important role in such a system being consisting of two-stage 90W-and-200W amplifier that allows the output to reach up to 1.2kW per block, and even approximate 9.6 kW to whole system using the classical power combination method. Our work mainly targets to present the study, design, and fabrication of both 150-Watt basic module and high-power Wilkinson method, which are the key components in the topology. The design and simulated results were carried out by the microwave engineering professional design software, known as ADS2008 package. The achieved results meet the demand of modern radar transmitter. All simulations and experimental results will be reported.Duc Long Hoanglonghd@vnu.edu.vnGia-Duong Bachduongbg@vnu.edu.vn2013-01-23T08:19:28Z2013-06-29T04:18:51Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/126This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1262013-01-23T08:19:28ZThe Application of a Multibeam Antenna for 4GThere are various antenna schemes which can be used to increase the throughput of the 4th mobile generation (4G) networks such as antenna diversity, beamforming, spatial multiplexing and MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) 1. With the above antenna schemes OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) is a suitable selection for 4G. This paper proposes a multibeam antenna combining OFDMA for the next generation mobile communications. In this paper we generalize and extend their concept learning method [1] for description logic-based information systems. We take attributes as basic elements of the language. Each attribute may be discrete or numeric. A Boolean attribute is treated as a concept name. This approach is more general and much more suitable for practical information systems based on description logic than the one of [1]. As further extensions we allow also data roles and the concept constructors "functionality" and "unquantified number restrictions". We formulate and prove an important theorem on basic selectors. We also provide new examples to illustrate our approach.Thanh Luong TranQuang Thuy Hathuyhq@vnu.edu.vnThi Lan Giao HoangLinh Anh NguyenHung Son NguyenAndrzej Szalas2012-11-02T02:28:57Z2017-01-17T02:34:39Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/41This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/412012-11-02T02:28:57ZA Hardware Architecture for Intra Prediction in H.264/AVC EncoderMPEG-4 AVC, so called H.264/AVC, is the latest video compression standard focusing on network transport and
storage of digital multimedia. In H.264 system, the intra prediction module is one of the most essential parts and it is different from the previous video compression standards. With the new prediction techniques, intra prediction in H.264 improves the bit rate but it also increases the memory bandwidth and the computational complexity with many prediction modes. In this work, the intra prediction procedure is fully analyzed. Based on the analysis, a hardware architecture for intra prediction focused on
main profile of H.264/AVC is proposed. The proposed architecture uses an adder tree to generate the predicted pixels for all prediction modes. The cost calculation method is Sum of Absolute Transformed Difference (SATD) and mode decision is the full search scheme. The proposed architecture can do intra prediction of an HDTV input in real-time and it is successfully simulated using Modelsim and synthesized using Xilinx ISE 10.1.Duy Hieu Buihieubd@vnu.edu.vnVan Huan Tranhuantv@vnu.edu.vnVan Mien Nguyenmiennv@vnu.edu.vnDuc Hoang NgoXuan Tu Trantutx@vnu.edu.vn2012-11-01T08:31:04Z2017-01-17T02:35:10Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/40This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/402012-11-01T08:31:04ZA SystemC based Simulation Platform for Network-on-Chip ArchitecturesAs a promising solution for on-chip communication of large systems, the Network-on-Chip paradigm has been studied and developed by many research groups with different approaches. To bring the NoC paradigm into applications, designers have to prove their proposed NoC architectures through hardware description language (HDL) based simulations, or even through silicon test chip. Most of HDL based simulations have been implemented with low level HDLs, usually at register-transfer-level (RTL), requiring a huge amount of the simulation time. In this work, we propose a simulation platform modeled in SystemC to help designers to simulate their NoC designs with different parameters to meet the requirements of targeted applications. The proposed platform supports two-dimension topologies with a variable size of the network. The platform configuration, including platform parameters as well as communication patterns, is easily set by a shell bash. As a result, by using this platform, designers can simulate the network architecture and evaluate the network performance with a very short simulation time.Van Thanh Vu Levulvt@husc.edu.vnDien Tap Ngotapnd@vnu.edu.vnXuan Tu Trantutx@vnu.edu.vn2012-11-01T08:18:46Z2017-01-17T02:34:03Zhttp://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/37This item is in the repository with the URL: http://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/372012-11-01T08:18:46ZSimulation and Performance Evaluation of a Network-on-Chip Architecture based on SystemCThe Network-on-Chip (NoC) paradigm has been recently known as a competitive on-chip communication solution for large complex systems such as multi-core and/or many-core systems thanks to its advantages. However, one of the main challenging issues for NoC design is that the network performance should be rapidly and early pre-proved for target applications.
In this paper, we present a NoC simulation and evaluation platform allowing designers to simulate and evaluate the NoC performance with different network configuration parameters. The proposed platform has been implemented in SystemC to be easily modified to adapt different simulation strategies and to save the simulation time. With this platform, designers can deal with: (i) configuring the network topology, flow control mechanisms and routing algorithm; (ii) configuring various regular and application specific traffic patterns; and (iii) simulating and analyzing the network performance with the assigned traffic patterns in terms of latency and throughput. Obtained results with a 4x4 2D-mesh NoC architecture will be presented and discussed in this paper to demonstrate the proposed platform. To improve timing performance, a three-stage pipeline architecture is proposed including: input data statistical analysis, encoding and packing. The context information and coding tables are stored in memory elements. To minimize the hardware implementation overhead and increase the system performance, in some sub-encoders, the codewords are calculated on-the-fly instead of being stored in look-up tables. The proposed architecture has finally been implemented using a low power CMOS 65nm technology from STMicroelectronics. The design is able to operate up to 715MHz. At 550MHz, the design complexity is 33Kgates for a power consumption of 20mW. The design is initially targeted to CIF video format; however, it is obviously suitable for real-time HD 1080p video format.Ngoc Mai Nguyenmainn@vnu.edu.vnXuan Tu Trantutx@vnu.edu.vnPascal Vivetpascal.vivet@cea.frSuzanne Lesecq
