The usage of satellite technology for air pollution monitoring applications has been recently increasing especially to provide global-to-local distribution of aerosol and its properties for deriving Particulate Matter concentration (PM). The paper investigates aerosol retrieval for multi- resolution satellite images. After that, PM is estimated from aerosol products and meteorological parameters in order to provide dust observations at different spatial scales. A geographic information system for air pollution monitoring and warning is developed based on these research results.
