This paper presents a proposed wireless sensor network (WSN) for monitoring the carbon monoxide levels of an indoor environment. Furthermore, the temperature and moisture of the air are also acquired in the real - time manner. The WSN consists of sensor nodes, relay nodes, and a gateway node. The data are updated to a web database and can be monitored though a web site. In the case of an emergency, alarms would be given through this Android application or Short Message Service (SMS). The power saving scheme is concerned in this paper by reducing the number of active sensors in each node and the number of nodes in the WSN. By using the proposed power saving scheme, the lifetime of a sensor node is up to four months. The experiment shows that the proposed system can be applied to real applications. date: 2015 type: Conference or Workshop Item type: PeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: https://eprints.uet.vnu.edu.vn/eprints/id/eprint/1753/1/ICDV_2015_paper_32.pdf identifier: Pham, Dinh Tuan and Nguyen, Dinh Chinh and Pham, Van Vinh and Do, Van Lam and Tran, Duc Tan (2015) Development of a Wireless Sensor Network for Indoor Air Quality Monitoring.
