Several researches has addressed that SDC has better detection performance than HDC. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on Equal Gain Combining (EGC)–based soft decision under Lognormal fading channel. We propose using Moment-generating function (MGF) to approximate probability density function (PDF) of power sum of lognormal variables. Then we utilize approximated PDF for evaluating cooperative detection performance.
