Based on Reddy’s first-order shear deformation plate theory, this paper presents an analysis of the nonlinear dynamic response and vibration of sandwich plates with negative Poisson’s ratio in auxetic honeycombes on elastic foundations subjected to blast and mechanical loads. A three-layer sandwich plate is considered discretized in the thickness direction by using analytical methods (stress function method, approximate solution), Galerkin method, and fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. The results show the effects of geometrical parameters, material properties, mechanical and elastic foundations on the nonlinear dynamic response, and vibration of sandwich plates. date: 2016 date_type: published publisher: SAGE Publications full_text_status: none publication: Journal of Sandwich Structures and Materials refereed: TRUE issn: 1099-6362 citation: Nguyen, Dinh Duc and Pham, Hong Cong (2016) Nonlinear dynamic response and vibration of sandwich composite plates with negative Poisson’s ratio in auxetic honeycombs.
