Instead of using radio frequency (RF)\r\nspectrum, VLC uses the visible light spectrum to perform\r\nlighting and communications functions simultaneously.\r\nMultiple access points VLC (multi-AP VLC) networks use\r\nceiling access point (ceiling-AP) and desk access point\r\n(desk-AP) to provide both uniform and spot lighting in\r\norder to achieve full coverage and high spectral efficiency.\r\nBecause mobile user equipment (UE) require\r\nseamless connectivity when moving, fast link handover\r\nbetween VLC access points (VLC-AP) has to be supported\r\nin the VLC networks. In this paper, we present a coordinated\r\nmulti-channel transmission method (CMcT)\r\nused to improve quality of service (QoS) of cell-edge UEs\r\nand propose a novel proactive link handover scheme\r\ndeploying the CMcT method for multi-AP VLC networks.\r\nPerformance results obtained by computer simulation\r\nshow that the proactive link handover scheme deploying\r\nthe CMcT method can significantly improve user\r\nthroughput and packet delay comparing with those of\r\nother link handover schemes."^^ .
