This paper studies WMU performance in millimeter wave cellular systems in three aspects such as throughput, Average Packet Delay (APD) and Packet Loss Ratio (PLR). The multi-slope model in which is recommended by 3GPP to simulate wireless communication is utilized to estimate the received signal power at the WMU in downlink. In order to improve the WMU performance, the Carrier Aggregation technique which has been introduced for Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is studied. By utilizing CA scheme, the WMU is allowed to utilize more than one sub-carrier to perform communications. The simulation results in Network Simulation NS3 indicates that the CA technique can significantly improve the WMU performance. For example, maximum achievable throughput of the CA system is 8.25 Mb/s which is nearly double than that of the non-CA system. publisher: Springer Singapore date: 2021-05-13 type: Conference or Workshop Item type: PeerReviewed identifier: Lam, Sinh Cong and Tran, Duc-Tan and Pham, Viet-Huong and Do, Xuan Thu (2021) On the Worst Case User Performance in Milliliter Cellular Networks.
