Abstract
A wind tunnel is an important tool used in aerodynamic field to investigate the effects of airstream moving through solid objects. In this paper, a low-speed wind tunnel with a cross section of 50250mm of working area and a free low velocity from 0 up to 27 m/s was considered. This model includes 30 differential pressure sensors, allows us to measure the pressure along the tunnel. In order to operate the system, a human-machine interface (HMI) in LabVIEW environment has been built. It allows us to modify the experimental parameters as well as display and collect the data. A number of tests with the model are carried out. The study shows that the results obtained from the experimental model are well agreed with the fluid dynamic theory. It shows that the low-speed wind tunnel proposed in this research can be used to study flow phenomena as well as to investigate the aerodynamic charateristics of testing objects.
